Our Vineyard is situated on the sandstone slopes above the farm and our vines flourish in their south west facing position.
We planted 200 vines in 2005 and picked our first harvest of rondo grapes in 2007.
Following a successful Devon Wine Week, when our 2009 Rose Vintage was well received, we are delighted to announce that the vineyard will be open for wine sales on Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 10.30 a.m. and 03.30 p.m. Tours and tasting at £3 per person remain by appointment. Please note that our 2007 Award Winning Red has now sold out.
We now have a Premise Licence and we will be offering tours, tastings and wine sales (cash only) from 31 May 2010 in conjunction with Devon Wine Week. To book please follow our contact details.
For the next 4 weeks we will be pruning the vines ready for the 2010 crop. This, for the first time, will involve all of our acre of vines. Each of the 1350 vines will be cut back to a single or twin fruiting cane which are then carefully bent over horizontally and tied to the fruiting wire. We currently have some Dorset Down ewes, shearlings and lambs for sale
We have made an application for the above so that we are able to sell our wine to vineyard visitors from the Spring of next year
